Supreme Court of New Jersey Appoints Michael Herz and Joseph Murphy to District Ethics Committees

Fox Rothschild congratulates Michael R. Herz and Joseph M. “Bud” Murphy Jr. on their appointments to the Supreme Court of New Jersey’s District Ethics Committees.

Herz will serve on the VB committee, which services Essex County – Suburban Essex and Murphy will serve on the XA committee, which services East Morris and Sussex counties. They will each serve a four-year term.

The District Ethics Committee is comprised of both attorney and public members. In their appointed positions, Herz and Murphy will help review, investigate, prosecute and adjudicate disciplinary and disability-related cases.

Herz, a partner in the Financial Restructuring & Bankruptcy Department, centers his practice on complex bankruptcy and insolvency matters. He represents Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 trustees, creditor committees, post-confirmation trusts, individual creditors and debtors in all phases of the bankruptcy process. 

Counsel in the Family Law Department, Murphy helps clients manage and resolve complex family law issues, including pre-nuptial agreements, matrimonial litigation, division of assets and divorce matters, child custody, child support and alimony negotiations.
