Court seeks feedback on CLE credit for pro bono service proposal

The Maine Supreme Judicial Court has announced a call for public comments on a proposed amendment to Rule 5 of the Maine Bar Rules. This amendment would allow attorneys to receive continuing legal education (CLE) credit for qualifying pro bono publico service.

Interested parties can review the proposed amendment through the provided link. Comments must be submitted to the Executive Clerk of the Supreme Judicial Court by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. Submissions can be made in writing, mailed to the specified address, or sent via email to lawcourt.clerk@courts.maine.gov. Email attachments must be in native portable document format (.pdf), and receipt of emails will be acknowledged by reply.

All submissions should include the name and mailing address of the individual submitting comments and, if applicable, the name, mailing address, and primary telephone number of any organization represented. Individuals do not need to be attorneys to submit comments.

Comments are considered public documents and may be posted on the Court's website.
