On August 26, 2024, America First Legal (AFL), in collaboration with the States of Texas and Idaho, and a coalition of 14 Attorneys General, secured a significant legal victory against the Biden-Harris Administration’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas temporarily halted a new program that AFL claims unlawfully provides a pathway to citizenship for over one million undocumented immigrants.

The "Parole in Place" (PIP) program has been suspended pending litigation. The lawsuit was spearheaded by AFL and supported by Attorneys General Ken Paxton of Texas and Raúl Labrador of Idaho, along with officials from Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, North Dakota, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Wyoming.

The court's decision also establishes an expedited timeline for resolving the case. According to AFL President Stephen Miller: “This is a huge victory in our courtroom battle to block the Biden-Harris executive fiat giving over 1 million illegal aliens a path to U.S. citizenship. That executive decree is now frozen. America First Legal is deeply honored to partner with Attorney General Paxton, Attorney General Labrador along with 14 other states to fight this unconstitutional mass amnesty.”
