Clinching a spot among the 20 firms recognized as runners up in American Lawyer’s 2024 “A-List,” Sheppard Mullin increased its ranking in every category, from revenue per lawyer to pro bono commitment, associate satisfaction, racial diversity and gender diversity, including percentage of female equity partners.
Sheppard Mullin climbed in the A-list rankings to No. 35 among Am Law 200 firms, posting the second-highest score increase in this year’s report. The firm also posted the fifth highest year-over-year total score increase, with particularly strong gains in the pro bono, diversity and female equity partner categories.
“The firms among the 20 runners up to this year’s A-List post strong results across a number of critical areas that demonstrate a combination of financial and cultural success,” noted ALM staff. “With progress in key areas, these 20 firms could climb the ranks to join next year's A-List.”
About the A-List
In the American Lawyer’s A-List, a firm’s score is based on a number of factors, both financial and cultural: revenue per lawyer, pro bono commitment, associate satisfaction, racial diversity and gender. Each category, as well as the overall score, is based on a 100-point scale with revenue per lawyer and pro bono given double weight.
