Senior Counsel Channah Norman has been selected to serve as a member of the New York City Bar Association’s Art Law Committee. She recently joined Shook’s Art Law practice after serving as Chief Counsel for the U.S. Army Center of Military History, where she provided legal counsel for the National Museum of the U.S. Army and 46 subsidiary Army museums, as well as the Army Artifact Collection.
As a committee member, Norman has the opportunity to be involved in drafting reports, commenting and testifying on legislation, submitting briefs, sponsoring continuing legal education and other programs and participating in public service projects.
“It’s an honor to be joining this group of esteemed art law practitioners whose work shapes the most influential matters in this area of the law,” said Norman from her D.C. office.
In addition to this new position, Norman serves as a faculty member of the Museum Studies Master’s Degree Program at George Washington University, teaching a course on cultural property and museum law.
