Attorney General Drew Wrigley issued the following statement in the wake of former State Senator Ray Holmberg’s guilty plea in federal court.
“This is an important milestone in North Dakota’s battle against child sex trafficking. Former State Senator Ray Holmberg has admitted his heinous crimes and now stands convicted of conduct that fuels the domestic and global sexual exploitation of children. This is an important step toward justice, and my office will continue to commit the full investigative resources of our BCI, just as I have prioritized this and the associated joint state-federal investigations since the first hours after I was sworn-in as Attorney General.
Our state investigative resources will continue to work on this and associated matters alongside our federal law enforcement partners. We proceed in alignment with the prosecutorial efforts of my former colleagues in our esteemed United States Attorney’s office and the United States Department of Justice.”
