Officers Identified in Fatal Police-Involved Shooting in the City of Baltimore

The Independent Investigations Division (IID) of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General has identified the Baltimore Police Department officers involved in the fatal police-involved shooting that occurred on Monday, August 5, 2024, in the city of Baltimore, MD. 

The officers are all assigned to the Group Violence Unit, and are identified as Detective Thomas Smith, a 4-year veteran; Detective Shariff Kellogg, a 6-year veteran; and Detective Devon Lomax, a 4-year veteran.

 The decedent has been identified as a juvenile and in accordance with juvenile privacy law, his identity is being withheld. The IID continues to investigate the circumstances of the fatal shooting.
