Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit arrested a man from Ruston on August 6.
Damian Powell, 35, of East Georgia Street in Ruston, was arrested for violating LA R.S. 14:81.1 - Possession of Child Pornography Under the Age of Thirteen (3 Counts).
Agents initially received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
The arrest resulted from a joint investigation involving General Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit and the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Damian Powell was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center without incident on the listed charges. His bond has reportedly been set at $175,000.
The investigation is ongoing.
