America First Legal (AFL) has initiated an investigation into the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) following revelations obtained through litigation. The findings suggest that the FDA’s Division of General Endocrinology recommended the approval of puberty blockers for children, despite being aware of increased risks of depression and suicidality associated with these drugs.

The Biden-Harris Administration's stance on this issue contrasts sharply with trends in Europe, where there is a move away from such medical interventions due to concerns over social contagion, the risks involved in transitioning children both socially and medically, and a growing number of individuals who are detransitioning.

To gain further insights into the FDA’s actions regarding the off-label use of puberty blockers in children, particularly concerning the heightened risk of suicide and depression, AFL has filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request with the FDA.

Ian Prior, Senior Advisor at America First Legal, stated: “While the rest of the civilized world is pulling back on the use of puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and medical castration of children, the Biden-Harris Administration has doubled down on this radical medical experimentation on children. The latest bombshell email from the FDA demonstrates a systemic and depraved rot in our federal government, and we will continue to investigate and expose it until it permanently ends.”
