Clark Hill announced today that Mark Auten has joined the firm as a Tax & Estate Planning Member in its Collin County office.
Auten primarily assists business owners with pre-exit planning strategies and provides individuals with foundational estate planning guidance.
“Whether business owners are looking to pass down to the next generation or sell to private equity, third parties, or investment banks, I step in to help with income tax planning, estate tax planning, and creditor protection planning to ensure everything is done in the most tax advantageous way,” Auten said.
Outside of his practice, Auten supports two nonprofit organizations. He is on the leadership board for Altruistic, a day program for adults with special needs, and he volunteers for a greenhouse program through his church that annually donates approximately 45,000 pounds of tomatoes to local food banks.
Auten was named a Super Lawyer “Rising Star” in 2022, 2023, and 2024. He earned his law degree from the Oklahoma City University School of Law.
“We’re thrilled to have Mark join our group in Collin County,” said Seth Haug, the business unit director for Clark Hill’s tax and estate planning practice. “His dual focus of estate and exit planning will enhance our range of services for clients in the region.”
