Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit recently arrested two New Orleans men on charges related to juvenile pornography.

Jerred Franklin, 22, of Oak Creek Road in New Orleans, was arrested on July 17 for violating LA R.S. 14:81.1 Distribution of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of Thirteen; he faces two counts.

Richard Howard II, 76, of Nashville Avenue in New Orleans, was also arrested on July 17 for violating LA R.S. 14:81.1 Possession of Pornography Involving Juveniles Under the Age of Thirteen; he faces eight counts.

These arrests stemmed from separate investigations initiated by a tip from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children. The joint investigation involved General Murrill’s Cyber Crime Unit, U.S. Homeland Security Investigations, and the New Orleans Police Department.

Both Franklin and Howard were booked into the Orleans Justice Center. The investigation is ongoing.
