The Clark Hill Dublin corporate team of Edward Johnston, Billy Brophy, Sean Nolan, and Gavin Halpin, assisted by Aoife Sheehy and Aine Quinn of the real estate team, supported FDT Consulting Engineers and Project Managers (FDT) in its sale to engineering consultancy NIRAS.

FDT is based in Dublin and specializes in the design of food and drink production plants.

“We’re very excited for FDT, its employees, and shareholders, as this acquisition will enable them to continue to grow and reach an even wider market,” Johnston said. “Our team provided M&A support every step of the way for FDT and its shareholders and we’re delighted with the outcome.”

According to a July 1 Business Plus article on the acquisition, FDT helps clients design production plants, focusing on sustainability within the production process, including energy and CO2 reduction in brewing, distilling, dairy, biotechnology, and pharma/life science.

“At FDT, we believe that this acquisition marks a pivotal step towards enhancing our global reach and strengthening our service offerings,” said FDT managing director John Hanley to Business Plus. “This symbiotic relationship will not only broaden our market exposure and resource base but also drive innovative solutions across multiple sectors.”
