America First Legal (AFL) has released eleven documents that detail alleged legal errors in the prosecution of President Donald J. Trump by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office. According to AFL, these documents aim to highlight what they describe as a politically motivated and legally flawed case against the former president.
The organization claims that for over a year, Bragg's office has engaged in "abusive and partisan lawfare" against Trump, turning the legal process into a "show trial persecution." AFL argues that this prosecution demonstrates a blatant disregard for the rule of law and an overt politicization of the legal system.
The documents released by AFL focus on various aspects of the prosecution, alleging failures across multiple areas of criminal procedure. The organization asserts that the indictment violated due process rights, compromising Trump's guarantee of a fair trial. They also point to what they describe as judicial bias and evidentiary issues that contradict longstanding legal precedents.
To substantiate their claims, AFL has compiled one-page summaries for each identified issue within the Bragg case. These summaries are intended to illustrate what AFL describes as "glaring legal errors" throughout the prosecution process.
