Attorney General John M. Formella announces that the Hillsborough County – Southern District Grand Jury has returned two indictments charging Alexi Ramos, age 33, with two class A felony counts of Theft by Unauthorized Taking or Transfer.
Ramos is alleged to have collectively stolen over $27,000 in relation to two separate home improvement projects. Rather than using his customers’ funds for their projects, Ramos is alleged to have purposely deprived them of their money by spending it on various unauthorized purposes unrelated to the projects.
Ramos is scheduled to be arraigned on the charges in Hillsborough Superior Court – Southern District on July 11, 2024 at 1 p.m.
The indictments are merely accusations and Ramos is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
This matter was investigated by Investigator Calice Ducey of the Department of Justice’s Consumer Protection and Antitrust Bureau. Assistant Attorney General Zach Frish, also of the Consumer Protection and Antitrust Bureau, is prosecuting the case.
