Attorney General Tim Griffin issued the following statement after securing a preliminary injunction halting President Biden’s latest attempt to cancel student loans without authorization from Congress:

“With Independence Day fast approaching, another court has reminded President Biden that he is not a king. He can’t go around Congress and unilaterally cancel student loans. He should have learned that from Schoolhouse Rock. And whenever he ignores that lesson, I will be there on behalf of Arkansans to remind him.”

Yesterday’s decision came in Missouri v. Biden. Arkansas is co-leading this lawsuit with Missouri, and they are joined in the lawsuit by Florida, Georgia, North Dakota, Ohio, and Oklahoma.
