WASHINGTON, D.C. – Following its success in disbanding the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) “Homeland Intelligence Experts Group,” America First Legal (AFL) has released the fourth tranche of the group’s internal meeting notes, obtained through litigation. This release is part of #DeepStateDiaries, a series that includes newly acquired documents.
The latest documents reveal discussions within the Brennan-Clapper intelligence committee about their efforts to "quietly make democracy work" amidst what they perceive as "domestic terrorism threats," particularly from supporters of former President Trump. During a September meeting, the group discussed an "Administration DT Strategy and DHS Role in Countering DT," referring to domestic terrorism.
The group reportedly views domestic terrorism as predominantly stemming from Trump supporters and aims to combat this threat by quietly working behind the scenes to "rebuild faith in the federal government." This approach has raised concerns about undermining democratic processes and elected representatives' authority.
America First Legal's first installment of #DeepStateDiaries highlighted proposals for expanding DHS’s influence into local communities discreetly and encouraging teachers and mothers to report on children. The second installment revealed plans by the Biden Administration to use military, religious, and political affiliations to identify individuals potentially prone to violent actions.
Further installments are anticipated as AFL continues its series.
