Providence County Grand Jury indicts three individuals for various crimes

Jose Hernandez (age 20) of East Providence, RI, was indicted by the Providence County Grand Jury on June 13, 2024. The charges include one count of first-degree robbery, one count of conspiracy to commit robbery, one count of assault with a dangerous weapon resulting in serious bodily injury, one count of carrying a pistol without a license, and one count of using a firearm while committing a crime of violence. The alleged acts occurred in East Providence on December 26, 2023. The East Providence Police Department conducted the investigation. Hernandez is scheduled to be arraigned on June 26, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

Joel Amaro (age 37) of Woonsocket, RI, was also indicted by the Providence County Grand Jury on June 13, 2024. He faces charges including one count of first-degree robbery and one count of assault with a dangerous weapon. The alleged acts occurred in Woonsocket on January 18, 2024. The Woonsocket Police Department conducted the investigation. Amaro is scheduled to be arraigned on July 3, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.

Richard Towne (age 45) of East Providence, RI, was indicted by the same grand jury on June 13, 2024. He is charged with one count of first-degree child molestation and one count of second-degree child molestation. The alleged acts occurred in East Providence on December 30, 2023. The East Providence Police Department conducted the investigation. Towne is scheduled to be arraigned on July 3, 2024, in Providence County Superior Court.
