The Juvenile Court in Fargo, ND, has announced a part-time and temporary position for a Juvenile Court Youth Coordinator. The role offers a wage of $17 per hour and involves approximately 20 hours of work per week, including flexible evening and weekend hours with some weekday commitments.
The primary responsibility of the Youth Coordinator is to provide services to youth and their families during their involvement with the Juvenile Court. The coordinator will work closely with assigned youth as identified by the Juvenile Court Supervisor.
Key responsibilities include assisting youth with transportation for court meetings, hearings, and court-ordered services; helping them seek employment; exposing them to positive social activities; aiding with college applications or other employment training programs; mentoring healthy relationships; connecting families with culturally relevant programming; and bridging communication between the juvenile court and youth. Additional duties involve documenting activities in the case management system, reporting neglect or abuse as mandated reporters, attending staff meetings and court sessions, conducting drug tests and curfew checks upon request, and performing other comparable tasks.
The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma and preferably have experience working with youth. Essential skills include maintaining confidentiality, following rules, understanding and relaying instructions, building rapport courteously and cooperatively, having basic written and verbal communication abilities, operating general office equipment, computer software proficiency in word processing and case management systems.
