Betty Graumlich named to Virginia Lawyers Weekly’s list of ‘go-to' employment lawyers

Global law firm Reed Smith is pleased to announce that Betty Graumlich, a partner in its Labor & Employment Group, has been named to the 2024 class of Virginia Lawyers Weekly Go To Lawyers for employment. Profiles of honorees will be published in the June 24 issue.

Honorees are recognized for their track record of success in all aspects of employment law, including case law, regulatory compliance, and for having a reputation for providing high quality and creative solutions for clients.

Graumlich is a highly respected, established and experienced labor and employment practitioner and trial lawyer who leads the firm’s Virginia labor and employment team. She is a former global practice group leader for Reed Smith's labor and employment practice and previously served on the firm's executive committee.

Graumlich represents numerous global and national companies, including physician practice groups, a nationwide rehabilitation hospital company, biotech startup companies, other life sciences companies and numerous IT companies. Her legal background, her strength in continuously staying abreast of changes in the law and her adaptability to the legal environment, as well as her diverse community involvement, have given her a unique ability to identify with the sensitive and evolving issues and communicate with clients in an effective and practical manner. Clients frequently call upon her to defend them in matters involving whistleblower claims and claims for violations of Title VII, the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Graumlich leads the U.S. branch of the firm’s women’s initiative network and has served as a mentor to numerous women associates and partners. She is currently the Virginia representative for the Employment Law Alliance, which was ranked by Chambers in Band 1 for Employment and Labor Global-wide Legal Networks. Previously, she served multiple three-year terms on the Council of the Virginia Bar Association Section on Labor & Employment.

Graumlich has received numerous professional honors throughout her career and was previously selected by Virginia Lawyers Weekly as a Go-To Lawyer for employment. Most recently, she is ranked in Band 1 for Labor & Employment in Virginia by Chambers and was recognized as a 2023 Employment & Discrimination Trailblazer by the National Law Journal, named to the Virginia Lawyers Weekly 2021 Influential Women of Law list, and selected for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America© for Employment Law – Management in 2020-2024, and for Litigation - Labor and Employment, for 2018-2024.
