Reed Smith moderates Connecticut Innovations roundtable on Foreign Venture Capital fundraising and investment in the US

On May 28th, a delegation of Italy's leading venture capital funds and venture-backed companies attended a Connecticut Innovations roundtable panel discussion in Stamford, Connecticut moderated by Mark Pedretti, Global Chair of Reed Smith’s Private Equity Group.

Twenty-five members of the Italian delegation also attended the 2024 Yale Innovation Summit sponsored by Yale Ventures. The panel discussion focused on foreign venture capital fundraising and investment in the US. Distinguished panelists included Mariafrancesca Carli, Managing Director at BDT & MSD; John Sargent, Managing Director at Rockefeller Capital Management and Peter Holden, Managing Partner of Dunworth Capital. About 60 people attended the event, which included Matt McCooe, the CEO of Connecticut Innovations; , Dan O'Keefe, Commissioner of Connecticut's Department of Community and Economic Development, and Caroline Simmons, Mayor of Stamford.

The State of Connecticut is one of the premier venture investors in the US through its state-sponsored venture firm, Connecticut Innovations. The State of Connecticut partnered with the Italian Consulate in New York to introduce Italian VC funds and venture-backed companies to the local investment community.
