Blank Rome LLP is pleased to announce that the firm has been named as one of the 2024 Best Law Firms for Women and Diversity by Seramount, part of EAB, in recognition of utilizing “best practices in recruiting, retaining, promoting, and developing women lawyers and lawyers from underrepresented groups, including people of color.” This marks the eighth year that Blank Rome has earned this recognition.

"It is an honor to receive ongoing recognition from Seramount for our dedication to advancing diversity and inclusion at our firm and in the legal industry,” said Grant S. Palmer, Blank Rome’s Chair and Managing Partner. "We are committed to creating and implementing innovative programs that support all of our talented attorneys and business professionals and presenting growth opportunities so everyone can have a thriving and fulfilling career at Blank Rome.”

Seramount’s 2024 Best Law Firms for Women and Diversity application included more than 600 questions about attorney demographics, workplace flexibility, paid time off and parental leaves, and development and retention of women and people of color, as well as those from other underrepresented groups. Questions about family-friendly benefits, mentoring, and sponsorship participation were also included. In a press statement, Subha V. Barry, president of Seramount, noted that the firms listed are dedicated to cultivating inclusive firm cultures.

"I am proud of our firm’s dedication to the advancement of women attorneys and other underrepresented groups, a commitment we actively uphold through comprehensive firm-wide initiatives such as BR Women, BR United, BR Pride, and BR Parents, as well as our signature programs, including our annual Women’s Summit and the BR United Professional Development Programs,” said Deborah A. Skakel, partner and co-chair of BR Women. “We also appreciate organizations like Seramount, among others, for championing more inclusive workplaces and recognizing our efforts to do the same.”

“At Blank Rome, fostering an inclusive and high-performing workplace is one of our core values, and we are thrilled to be recognized for this commitment,” said Cheryl S. Chang, partner, co-chair of BR United, co-chair of the Los Angeles office, and vice chair of the Financial Institutions Litigation and Regulatory Compliance group. “Through BR United, our multicultural affinity group, we help our firm advance its D&I goals by recruiting and attracting top talent, providing a full spectrum of training programs, and hosting a variety of events for our colleagues and clients.”

Blank Rome participates in various programs and partnerships aimed at advancing all qualified professionals, including women and underrepresented groups, throughout the legal industry. Notably, our firm is an active participant in Diversity Lab’s industry-leading initiatives, including the Mansfield Rule program, which recognizes law firms that consider a broad slate of qualified talent for leadership positions and advancement opportunities, as well as enhance transparency related to leadership roles, advancement processes, and compensation policies. Our firm achieved Mansfield Certification status for the sixth year in a row after successfully completing Diversity Lab’s yearlong Mansfield Rule 6.0 program at the end of 2023.
