WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, America First Legal (AFL) has issued a legal demand letter to Northwestern University President Michael Schill concerning allegations of violating federal laws in order to appease pro-Hamas protestors on campus.

The letter from AFL addresses the recent "Agreement on Deering Meadow" entered into by Northwestern University, which AFL claims violates multiple federal laws, including Title VI and Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as well as 8 U.S.C. §§ 1324b.

According to AFL, the agreement aims to support Palestinian faculty and students, provide funding for Palestinian undergraduates, and renovate a house for MENA/Muslim students. AFL argues that these actions by the university constitute a violation of federal civil rights and anti-fraud laws.

In response to Northwestern University's actions, America First Legal Senior Vice President Reed D. Rubinstein stated, "The ‘Agreement on Deering Meadow’ is an indefensible capitulation to lawlessness. Northwestern University’s leaders have chosen to appease the pro-Hamas wing of its student body by violating federal law, sacrificing pro-American students, Jewish and otherwise, to leftists and Islamic extremists."

Rubinstein further expressed concern over the potential consequences of such actions, stating, "President Michael Schill and his colleagues have indelibly stained the reputation of what was once one of America’s great universities and, by rewarding the mob, laid the foundation for future violence."

America First Legal has made it clear that they will continue to fight to protect the civil rights of all American citizens and uphold the rule of law on campuses throughout the United States.
