BOSTON (Legal Newsline) - A wrongful death lawsuit in Massachusetts state court seeks compensation for the estate of a man killed while driving a moped in Chelsea.

Candida Garcia-Castaneda, as the personal representative of the estate of Aristeo Enrique Ramirez Garcia, filed a lawsuit April 17 in Suffolk County Superior County against Academy Broadway Corporation, Academy Bus LLC, Coach New England LLC, and an unidentified individual referred to as John Doe.

The suit alleges Garcia was driving a moped in the early morning hours of Dec. 17 on Chelsea Street, headed toward Chelsea. An Academy bus turned left, cutting off Garcia and striking him, the suit says.

Garcia had the right of way, it is alleged. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:47 a.m.

Garcia was 27 years old at the time of his death. He was a cook who is survived by his wife and young daughter.

Lawyer Andy Abraham of Keches Law Group represents the plaintiff.
