SEARCY, Ark. (Legal Newsline) - An Arkansas lawsuit alleges a gun made by Colt's Manufacturing went off without the trigger being pulled, causing serious injuries.

A lawsuit was filed March 19 against Colt's Manufacturing Company, LLC, Walmart, Inc., Federal Cartridge Company and Vista Outdoor, Inc., by plaintiff Dustin Decker. The case was filed in White County Circuit Court.

The plaintiff alleges that he suffered permanent physical injury and disfigurement when his M4 Carbine rifle suddenly discharged a round without the trigger being touched on March 29, 2021.

The bullet struck Decker in the abdomen and travelled through his abdominal region causing substantial injury, including fracturing his left hip and striking his bladder, the suit claims.

Decker is seeking damages for this incident from all defendants who were involved in the design, manufacture, distribution or sale of the rifle and ammunition.

John Tyner of Langdon and Emison in Missouri represents the plaintiff.
