Washington, D.C. - The Department of Justice (DOJ) recently unveiled its updated Equity Action Plan for FY2024, aimed at implementing President Biden's race-focused executive order across federal agencies. According to a statement from Gene Hamilton, Vice President and General Counsel of America First Legal, the DOJ's actions are part of a broader agenda to transform the country under the guise of diversity and inclusion.
Hamilton criticized the DOJ's approach, stating, "The Department of Justice under Merrick Garland’s leadership is functioning as the enforcement arm of the Biden White House’s woke and weaponized agenda to radically transform our country under the auspices of so-called ‘diversity, equity, and inclusion.’ Its real mission is to ensure that justice is done, yet as this report demonstrates, the DOJ is committing to do the opposite–advancing an agenda that divides Americans based on their skin color and other immutable characteristics and ignoring the needs of victims of crime."
The Equity Action Plan includes various strategies, such as steering public funds based on race, sex, and national origin, elevating criminals over victims, and using woke racism to guide police hiring. The plan also delves into the realm of environmental justice, with the DOJ seemingly suggesting that the climate is racist.
Furthermore, the DOJ's approach prioritizes initiatives like hosting listening sessions for specific communities and urging Americans to report "hate incidents," which has raised concerns about the Department's focus amidst rising drug overdoses and violent crime rates in the country.
In response to these developments, critics have voiced apprehensions about the direction in which the Biden administration is steering the DOJ, with concerns about the prioritization of equity over critical issues like public safety and the rights of American citizens.
