Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. is pleased to announce that Tanya A. Bovée has been elected as the co-president of the Connecticut Asian Pacific American Bar Association (CAPABA). Tanya has been a CAPABA board member for 20 years and this appointment marks her second term as president of the organization, having previously served in the same capacity from 2008 to 2009. Tanya’s term began on January 29, 2024, and concludes on January 29, 2025.

Tanya is a principal in Jackson Lewis’ Hartford office and a member of the firm's board of directors where she serves as the diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) liaison. She has 20 years of experience representing management in a wide range of issues related to employment law. Tanya partners with companies around the U.S. to develop DEI strategies, conducts customized DEI and bias workplace education sessions, and has presented hundreds of in-house training sessions for executives, management and employees regarding equal employment opportunity, harassment, discrimination and retaliation. Tanya also works with employers to comply with their affirmative action obligations, overseeing the preparation of affirmative action plans and defending compliance reviews.

CAPABA’s mission is to support Asian Pacific American attorneys and communities and those interested in Asian Pacific American legal issues throughout the state of Connecticut. The organization has established a mentor program to assist Asian Pacific American law students in Connecticut to become successful attorneys and an Asian Pacific American legal referral service to encourage professional relationships among those attorneys. CAPABA also partners with local and national bar associations in sponsoring programs and conferences. CAPABA’s membership consists of attorneys, law professors, law students and interested individuals.
Tanya earned her J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law and was recently the recipient of the inaugural DEI Award presented by Quinnipiac University School of Law Alumni Association for her leadership and commitment in advancing DEI in the legal profession. Additionally, she holds a DEI Executive Certificate from Cornell University School of Industrial and Labor Relations and earned her B.S. from the University of New Haven.
