WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (Legal Newsline) - A woman who alleges that a Florida police officer exploited her vulnerability during her struggle with alcoholism is suing the city of Boynton Beach following the dismissal of the officer for his purported actions.

A Jane Doe sued Patrick Monteith and the Boynton Beach Police Department on Jan. 17 in Palm Beach County Circuit Court. Her complaint starts in December 2021, when she was suffering from alcohol dependency.

She called the Boynton Beach PD for assistance, and Monteith as sent to her residence, the suit says. He returned later on Dec. 21, 2021, and tried to get Doe out of her clothes and into the bathtub, the suit says.

"This same night, Monteith also exposed himself to Doe," the suit says.

Still, Doe gave him a key so he could check on her, the suit says, which he did for a few nights after, in addition to sending her a text message with a video of him masturbating in his patrol car.

She reported Monteith after he "attempted to forcefully have sex with Doe against her will while she was intoxicated."

Ultimately, Monteith was fired despite denying the allegations during an investigation.
