Attorney General Ashley Moody of Florida has recognized the efforts of the nonprofit organization One More Child for their work in assisting young victims of human trafficking. One More Child provides services to vulnerable children and struggling families, including state-certified, anti-trafficking mobile outreach teams that assess the needs of survivors and connect them with essential community resources.

In recognition of the organization's dedication, Attorney General Moody presented a Florida Cabinet resolution to One More Child representatives at the FSA headquarters in Tallahassee. The resolution observes January as Human Trafficking Prevention Month and acknowledges the crucial role that One More Child plays in supporting trafficking victims.

Speaking about the organization, Attorney General Moody stated, "One More Child supports young human trafficking victims, and I am excited to recognize the great work they do to help us end this atrocious crime in Florida. It is an honor to present them with a Florida Cabinet Resolution, signed by the Governor and the Florida Cabinet, to recognize their important efforts and encourage those devoted to fighting on behalf of trafficking victims across our state."

Dr. Jerry Haag, President of One More Child, expressed gratitude for Attorney General Moody's commitment to eradicating child sex trafficking. He emphasized the importance of the partnership between One More Child, the Attorney General's office, and the law enforcement community in reaching vulnerable children during their darkest times.

Sheriff Bill Leeper, President of the Florida Sheriffs Association, praised Attorney General Moody's dedication to helping young trafficking victims. He highlighted the collaborative efforts between law enforcement agencies and organizations like One More Child in providing support to victims and preventing further exploitation.

One More Child's anti-trafficking mobile outreach teams operate 24/7 crisis hotlines in their respective regions and responded to 265 trafficking situations in 2022. The organization covers five judicial circuits in Florida and also offers tips on how to spot and report human trafficking through their See It. Say It. Stop It. approach. Additionally, they provide anti-trafficking training courses to raise awareness about the issue.

Attorney General Moody has made ending human trafficking in Florida a top priority. She serves as Chair of the Statewide Council on Human Trafficking, which comprises law enforcement leaders, prosecutors, legislators, and experts in various fields. Furthermore, she hosts the annual Human Trafficking Summit, bringing together local, state, and national leaders to combat trafficking in all its forms.
