New York associate Steven Peretz will join the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) as enforcement counsel. In his new role, Peretz will lead investigations into potential securities violations. His last day at McGuireWoods is Jan. 5, 2024.
Peretz, a member of the firm’s Government Investigations & White Collar Litigation Department, joined McGuireWoods in 2016. At McGuireWoods, he defended government investigations, conducted internal investigations and resolved litigation matters for financial services clients.
“I’ve greatly enjoyed my time here and the opportunities I had to handle investigations from soup to nuts and develop my style as an attorney,” Peretz said. “I will miss McGuireWoods, but I’m looking forward to taking everything I’ve learned here about how to conduct an investigation and using it to protect investors and market integrity.”
Noreen Kelly, McGuireWoods’ deputy managing partner for litigation, congratulated Peretz on behalf of the firm.
“Steve has been a valued member of McGuireWoods for more than seven years. We will miss him very much, and we wish him great success in his new position at FINRA.”
