Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton has filed a lawsuit against Pfizer, accusing the pharmaceutical company of falsely representing the effectiveness of its COVID-19 vaccine and attempting to suppress public discussion about the product. The lawsuit alleges that Pfizer engaged in deceptive practices and violated the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

One of the key claims made by Pfizer was that its vaccine had a 95% efficacy rate against infection. However, the lawsuit argues that this representation was highly misleading. The 95% efficacy rate was based on a calculation of "relative risk reduction" during the company's initial two-month clinical trial. The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has stated that "relative risk reduction" is a misleading statistic that can unduly influence consumer choice. Furthermore, Pfizer was aware that the duration of the vaccine's protection could not be accurately predicted beyond two months, but it failed to disclose this information to the public.

The lawsuit also points out that Pfizer's clinical trial did not measure whether the vaccine protects against transmission of the virus. Despite this, the company launched a campaign to pressure the public into getting vaccinated by portraying it as a necessary measure to protect loved ones.

However, the lawsuit alleges that Pfizer's vaccine did not live up to the company's claims. COVID-19 cases increased after widespread vaccination, and in some areas, a higher percentage of deaths occurred among the vaccinated population compared to the unvaccinated. When confronted with the failure of its product, Pfizer allegedly resorted to silencing those who spoke out against it. The lawsuit states that Pfizer labeled truth-tellers as "criminals" and accused them of spreading "misinformation." The company also allegedly coerced social media platforms to censor prominent critics.

Attorney General Paxton stated, "We are pursuing justice for the people of Texas, many of whom were coerced by tyrannical vaccine mandates to take a defective product sold by lies." He criticized the Biden Administration for using the pandemic to enforce unlawful public health orders and enrich pharmaceutical companies. Paxton vowed to use all available tools to protect citizens who were misled and harmed by Pfizer's actions.

This lawsuit follows Attorney General Paxton's earlier investigation into Pfizer and other vaccine manufacturers. For more details, the petition can be found [here](link).
