Fox Rothschild LLP congratulates Raleigh, N.C. Partner Deana A. Labriola, who was appointed to the USA Climbing Board of Directors.

As the national governing body for the sport of competitive indoor rock climbing, USA Climbing promotes the disciplines of bouldering, lead and speed, as well as the collegiate and paraclimbing series throughout the United States. USA Climbing receives sanctioning and is recognized by the International Federation of Sport Climbing and the International Olympic Committee, propelling it to oversee the sport at the highest levels.

As a member of the board, Labriola will play a critical role in leading the strategic direction of the organization, overseeing its policies and ensuring that USA Climbing’s mission to safely support the well-being and development of climbers, and promote and grow climbing in the country, is fulfilled.

Marc Norman, President of USA Climbing, said Labriola was a “great combination of committed climbing parent, well-respected professional, and influential voice for many successful organizations.”

“I am honored to join the USA Climbing Board of Directors and contribute to the continued success of the sport,” said Labriola. “Climbing has been a significant part of my family’s life, and I am excited to work alongside fellow board members to support the climbing community and drive positive change within the sport.”

An experienced corporate transactional attorney, Labriola centers her practice on mergers, acquisitions and debt and equity financing deals ranging from $5m to $150m. She also routinely serves as outside general counsel and trusted advisor to operating companies and their owners and/or executives, helping them navigate a wide range of matters where legal and operational considerations intersect.

Labriola and her family personally are committed to the sport of climbing. On most weekends, you will find her climbing, hiking, or cheering on her teenage daughter, who is a competitive indoor climber in bouldering, lead and speed, at various competitions.
