BENTONVILLE, Ark. (Legal Newsline) — A son alleges his mother was killed by her male companion, who then burned down their Arkansas house and committed suicide.
Raul Escobar, Administrator for the Estate of Reyna Escobar, deceased, filed a complaint July 17 in Benton County Circuit Court against Jennifer E. Gray, special administrator for the Estate of Daniel Han, deceased, alleging wrongful death and other claims.
According to the plaintiff's complaint, his mother Reyna Escobar and her minor children lived with Han two years prior to her death at a residence in Benton County. He claims the residence was held as joint tenants with right of survivorship.
Escobar further claims that the minor children heard Han and his mother fighting in their bedroom late in the evening and that the minor children never saw their mother alive again. He alleges that Han shut off the power to the home and rented a hotel room, where he remained with the minor children until his mother's death several days later.
He further alleges a fire broke out in the house a few days later and that Han was found dead in a car parked in the garage with a gunshot wound to the head. Escobar claims the same day his mother's body was found badly burned in a bedroom of the home. He alleges Han suffocated his mother several days prior to starting the fire and committing suicide.
Escobar seeks monetary relief, interest and all other just relief including right to the real property. He is represented by Jeffrey Baker and Mostyn Prettyman in Bentonville.
