BROOKLYN, N.Y. (Legal Newsline) — Taco Bell is facing a class action lawsuit alleging it is falsely advertises the amount of beef and other ingredients in its menu items.

Frank Siragusa, on behalf of himself and all others similarly situated, filed a complaint July 31 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York against Taco Bell Corp., alleging violation of New York's Deceptive Trade and Practices Act and other claims.

Siragusa says he purchased items from Taco Bell in Ridgewood, including a Crunchwrap Supreme, Grande Crunchwrap, Vegan Crunchwrap, Mexican Pizza and Veggie Mexican Pizza. He claims Taco Bell falsely advertises the amount of beef and other ingredients contained in its menu items and overstates the amount of ingredients by at least double.

Siragusa further claims Taco Bell uses uniform photos on its advertisements on the menu, food delivery sites and mobile ordering apps that falsely show a large portion of food. He alleges his purchased food did not look like the pictures or advertisements and that Taco Bell causes customers to make purchases they otherwise would not have made.

He also alleges Taco Bell is unfairly competing with restaurants that more fairly advertise the size of their menu items and that customers have posted numerous complaints online.

Siragusa and the class seek monetary relief, interest, trial by jury and all other just relief.  They are represented by James Kelly of The Law Office of James C. Kelly in New York City and Anthony Russo, Jr., of The Russo Firm in Delray Beach, Florida.
