Global law firm Reed Smith partners Stacy Marcus and Edward Shapiro have been named to the Hollywood Reporter’s annual listings of leading entertainment lawyers. The listings recognize leading attorneys who have set themselves apart from their peers, negotiating the entertainment industry’s biggest deals and advising on key commercial issues.
Marcus has been named to the Hollywood Reporter’s 17th annual Power Lawyers listing of the 100 most influential attorneys. She advises global and regional advertisers, luxury retailers, media companies, and digital platforms on all facets of advertising and entertainment law, including celebrity endorsements, influencers, SAG-AFTRA issues, the metaverse and social media marketing. Marcus serves as chief negotiator for the advertising industry's Joint Policy Committee in its negotiations of the $3 billion SAG-AFTRA commercials contracts.
Shapiro has been named to the Hollywood Reporter’s Top Music Lawyers 2023 listing. He is a leading music and sports transactional lawyer, and is a widely recognized figure in the business. He represents top musical performers, producers and songwriters across all genres. He led a team to negotiate and conclude a series of ground-breaking strategic ventures for Rihanna’s Savage X, Fenty and Fenty Beauty lines and handled all aspects of Rihanna’s Super Bowl halftime show performance. In addition to his talent representation practice, Shapiro’s clients include startups, ventures, executives and brands working within the new media industry.
