Nantucket Nectars | From the complaint

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (Legal Newsline) - The plastic bottles in which Nantucket Nectars comes in contain chemicals from a family known as PFAS, a class action lawsuit complains.

Plaintiff Timothy Walker sued Keurig Dr Pepper on Sept. 16 in New York federal court, calling Orchard Apple Nantucket Nectar "unfit for human consumption." PFAS are found in firefighting foam and some consumer products and are found in the bloodstreams of virtually every American.

PFAS lawsuits blame the chemicals for a variety of health problems, some of which were linked by a health study that was part of a settlement with DuPont. But others say the science on how PFAS affect the human body is incomplete.

Meanwhile, as the government still requires PFAS in its firefighting foam on military bases, lawyers pursue litigation like an Ohio class action that alleges no illnesses.

Most PFAS cases are housed in a South Carolina multidistrict litigation proceeding, but consumer class actions that haven't been transferred there are starting to pile up.

The Nantucket Nectars suit says Keurig Dr Pepper markets the drinks as all natural and cultivates a corporate image as making "a positive impact on our customers, employees, communities and planet."
