CONWAY, Ark. (Legal Newsline) - A deceased man will never get his chance to be raptured, a new lawsuit against a funeral home says.

Starlina MacMillan and Eunice and Harold Lee sued Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway, Ark., in Faulkner County Circuit Court on March 8. The three are the wife and children of the late Harold Lee, who wished to be buried near his parents at Holland Cemetery in Quitman.

But in December 2019, the funeral home "accidentally cremated" his remains even though the family had purchased a casket.

"Mr. Lee was extremely religious and strictly desired not to be cremated, as he believed his body would be raptured following the second coming," the lawsuit says.

Wife Eunice was "violently shaking in shock" when she got the news, the suit says. Harold Lee does not handle emotional distress well, and the truth was kept from him for two years, the suit says.

The suit makes claims for outrage and negligence. Brandon Lacy of Lacy Law Firm in Jonesboro is representing the plaintiffs.
