Procter and Gamble sued for benzene allegedly found in aerosol antiperspirant sprays

PORTLAND, Ore. (Legal Newsline) - Reese Lyle filed a federal class action lawsuit on December 7 in the District of Oregon against the Procter and Gamble over the alleged presence of benzene in its deodorant products.

According to the lawsuit, the Procter and Gamble Company manufactures, produces, markets and sells aerosol antiperspirant sprays under the brand names “Old Spice” and “Secret” which when independently tested have been shown to contain the known human carcinogen benzene.

Defendant is alleged of recklessly, knowingly and/or willfully violating state consumer laws by not disclosing through product labeling the harmful contents present in aerosol antiperspirant sprays.

Lyle is represented by Carl Post of Portland.
