HARRISON, Ark. (Legal Newsline) -- A Texas man has filed suit in Arkansas court against the maker of a jack-stand for planes, claiming it failed and caused his to crash to the ground.
Andre DeLombard filed a complaint on May 26 in the Circuit Court of Boone County against Fly Arkansas, LLC, Alpha Aviation, Inc., and Geometrix Co. for negligence and strict liability.
According to the complaint, on January 11, 2020 DeLombard was renting hangar space and tools from Fly Arkansas, which included a tail weight and jack-stands to do his maintenance. DeLombard alleged that the tail weight was defective and failed while being used according to manufacturer's instructions, and when the tail weight failed, so did the jack-stands.
DeLombard alleged that the plane then crashed to the floor and was rendered a total loss. DeLombard alleged that the defendants are responsible for failure of equipment, negligence and stick liability.
DeLombard seeks $135,000, pre-and post-judgment interest, attorney fees, costs and expenses. DeLombard is represented by William J. Changose of Natural State Law, PLLC.
