HOUSTON (Legal Newsline) - Samsung was pinned in a federal class action lawsuit for allegedly marketing a thin plastic finish on its appliances as a durable stainless steel coating.

The case was filed by plaintiff Adam Lee on April 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas.

Lee owns a Samsung oven with the black stainless steel coating marketed by the defendant, which he says has shown "peeling, flaking and premature degradation" after only a few years of use.

The suit outlines a list of other consumer complaints about the supposed luxury finish and states that Samsung is aware of the problem but has done nothing to remedy it.

Samsung is charged with fraudulent concealment, breach of implied warranty of merchantability, violation of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act and unjust enrichment.

Lee is represented by Greenwald Davidson Radbil PLLC of Austin, Texas.
