NEW YORK (Legal Newsline) - A New York woman has reached a $70,000 settlement on behalf of herself and her young daughter after the child was injured at the River Bank State Park in New York in 2018.

The settlement is with the State and County of New York and the Mission Society, according to documents filed on February 12 in the New York County Supreme Court.

Plaintiff Alexis Snyder's daughter was six years old when she attended the state park's day camp. On August 7, the child was attempting to do a cartwheel on the camp's playground and broke her elbow.

The child required surgical operation at Mt. Sinai Hospital to treat the fracture, followed by several months of physical therapy. Snyder says she accepts the defendants' settlement offer of $70,000 for her daughter's injury, citing an excellent recovery and no outstanding medical bills.

Snyder is represented by Walter Matthew Sakkas of New York County.
