TAMPA, Fla. (Legal Newsline) – Bose is one of many companies now facing class action lawsuits under the Florida Security of Communications Act.
Attorneys at Shamis & Gentile, Edelsberg Law and Hiraldo P.A. sued the company on Feb. 10 in Marion County, Fla., state court, and Bose removed the case to Tampa federal court on March 9.
The lawsuit, like others, says Bose violated the FSCA by tracking the movements of visitors while on its website. The information allegedly collected includes mouse clicks and movements, information inputted and pages and content viewed.
“Plaintiff never consented to interception of his electronic communication by Defendant or anyone else,” the suit says.
“At no point in time did Plaintiff provide Defendant, its employees or agents with consent to intercept Plaintiff’s electronic communications.”
