LOS ANGELES (Legal Newsline) – A California county is suing a gym that is allegedly violating social-distancing orders targeting the Southern California Region.
Ventura County sued House of Gains and owner David Figg in January, and the defendants removed the case to Los Angeles federal court on Feb. 4. The lawsuit says House of Gains has not complied with face covering rules and has not enforced social-distancing guidelines.
The gym is in Port Hueneme and was ordered closed in July but “after a period of time started advertising plans to re-open regardless of the closure order,” the suit says.
Compliance officers have found gym-goers not wearing face masks, the suit says.
“The gym and Figg, in public statements and on social media, have represented that they will continue to violate the health orders and the closure order and will continue to permit indoor fitness operations at the property,” the suit says.
