Lawsuit: My dog's grain-free food has gluten in it

Federal Court

BOSTON (Legal Newsline) – WellPet’s grain-free foods actually contain gluten, a class action lawsuit complains.

The case, filed Jan. 12 in Boston federal court, charges the company with misleading customers when it says its food doesn’t contain wheat, corn or soy.

“This misleads consumers into believing that the mislabeled pet foods contain no grain even though the mislabeled pet foods in fact do contain gluten,” the suit says.

“By doing so, Defendant is able to charge a substantial price premium for its mislabeled pet foods on account of these false grain-free claims.”

Massachusetts firm Forrest Lamothe is pursuing the case, along with Bursor & Fisher of California and KamberLaw.
