NEWARK, N.J. (Legal Newsline) – A former makeup artist at the MLB Network is accusing the channel of violating New Jersey law.

The suit, filed in Jan. 5 in Newark federal court, is filed under the state’s Employee Protection Act and Earned Sick Leave Act by Meredith Greene, who claims she was not paid for earned sick leave because she didn’t live in New Jersey.

Though she commuted to the network’s Secaucus headquarters from Florida on her own dime, she says she was entitled to those benefits because she worked in New Jersey.

After she objected, she was fired for living too far from the network.

“The stated reason was knowingly false and was a pretext designed to cover-up the true reason for her termination, i.e., retaliation in violation of CEPA,” the lawsuit says.
