NEW YORK (Legal Newsline) – Dove ice cream bars contain an extra ingredient that cheats customers, a new class action lawsuit says.
Attorney Spencer Sheehan’s Jan. 1 lawsuit in New York federal court says Dove milk chocolate-covered ice cream bars contain vegetable oil, an ingredient “consumers do not expect in chocolate.”
“Chocolate provides greater satiety and a creamy and smooth mouthfeel compared to other ingredients which substitute for chocolate, like vegetable oils,” the lawsuit says.
“Vegetable oils provide less satiety than chocolate, a waxy and oily mouthfeel and leave an aftertaste.”
The lawsuit also lauds the health benefits of real chocolate vs. the negative effects of vegetable oil.
