ATLANTA (Legal Newsline) – A stem cell company accused of misleading elderly and disabled customers has removed the lawsuit against it to federal court.

Elite Integrated Medical did so last week as it prepares to mount its defense against Georgia Attorney General Chris Carr’s lawsuit, which was filed earlier this year.

Carr alleges Elite made more than $6.4 million by using aggressive marketing techniques and high-pressure sales tactics to score the business of 842 consumers. Elite is accused of claiming it has a staff of doctors who provide its products to patients but actually rely on nurse practitioners to apply injections.

Carr seeks penalties of up to $10,000 per violation of state law.
