ALEXANDRIA, Va. (Legal Newsline) – A former employee who managed contracts with the federal government says he was effectively fired for reporting misconduct at AIRBUS U.S. Space & Defense.

Maros Kmec filed a False Claims Act lawsuit against AIRBUS on Oct. 17 in Virginia federal court that says he witnessed the company ripping off the federal government.

The company frequently submitted false and fraudulent claims to the feds, he says. When he voiced his concerns, he was ignored, the lawsuit says.

“When Mr. Kmec persisted, and AIRBUS managers learned that Mr. Kmec was preserving evidence of their misconduct, AIRBUS undertook to humiliate, distress and discredit Mr. Kmec, and constructively terminated him from his position in October 2018,” the lawsuit says.

Eventually, the company had the FBI raid his house in January 2019 to seize his personal drive and laptop, the suit says. Clinton & Peed and Vernia Law Firm are representing him.
