JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (Legal Newsline) – Another lawsuit alleges there is no difference between pain relievers for infants and children except the price.

Dollar General now faces a class action from David Levy and his lawyers at three Florida firms and Minneapolis’ Pearson, Simon & Warshaw. They filed Sept. 15 in Florida federal court.

Like several other suits before it, this one alleges the levels of acetaminophen in children’s and infants’ pain relievers are identical, but the product for infants is more expensive because parents are led to believe they are different.

“The potential risks associated with acetaminophen overdose terrifies parents and causes them to be extra careful when buying medicine for their children,” the suit says. “Dollar General exploits this fear by misleading consumers.”
