SEATTLE (Legal Newsline) – Eddie Bauer is accused of a false discount scheme at its outlet stores in a new class action lawsuit.
The suit, filed by Susan Clark in Seattle federal court on July 16, claims the discounts the company claims to offer at outlet stores are exaggerated because those products were never offered at their list prices.
“Eddie Bauer’s discounts and reference prices are false because Eddie Bauer rarely if ever offers the products at the advertised list price,” the suit says.
“Eddie Bauer invents inflated and fictitious list prices so that it can advertise perpetual store-wide ‘sale’ events and product discounts to induce customers to purchase its products.”
The Law Offices of Daniel Hattis is pursuing the case.
