Lawyers target Best Buy over output of portable chargers

Federal Court

MINNEAPOLIS (Legal Newsline) – Best Buy’s power banks won’t charge your phone as much as they claim to, a new class action lawsuit alleges.

Kyntasha Robinson filed her case against Best Buy on June 26 in Minnesota federal court, alleging the company misrepresents how much power the products provide.

Users relying on the banks to power their portable electronic devices in the absence of an outlet will be disappointed, the lawsuit claims, because Best Buy exaggerates how many milliampere hours are actually produced.

Robinson says her INSIGNIA 8,000 mAh charger never delivered that much. Her lawyers say it actually produced 5,858 mAh.

She is represented by Berger Montague, Levin Papantonio and Finkelstein Blankinship.
